History of India's independence

Fellow countrymen and women, this is 74th Indian Independence Day in the year 2020. Our heroes have laid down their lives for the struggle of freedom from the British empire.

The British colonized India for over 200 years. The East India Company (British-related) ruled India from 1757–1858. The company started domination of power in India immediately after it won the battle of Plassey. The British Raj also is known as the Crown rule in India held power from 1858–1947. Later, The stroke of Independence came through the midnight when the Indian Independence Bill was carved out from the former Mogul Empire on August 15, 1947.
