CHANDRAYAAN 2- DOCKS ON MOON

Moon – a bewitching ecstasy not only for the poets but also for the scientists, for the past few decades. American and Russian scientists had a confrontation of who’s going to be the prime in this.

After sixty nine times of journey and various researches done with the 100 kilograms of stones and rocks, they came to a conclusion that MOON is a desert and directed their view towards Mars.

At this time, Indian Space Research Organisation takes over this task and spent about 386 crores and started off their travel in 2008 through Chandrayaan 1. It sent signals from the orbital path around the moon. By virtue of this, the scientists came to know about the presence of water on the surface of the moon. All of a sudden, the spotlight of the whole world focused on India.

PRAGYAN ROVER

At this time, Indian Space Research Organisation takes over this task, spending about 386 crores and started off their travel in 2008 and Israel too joined them.In order to prove their treasure trove discovery, India decided to do research on the Moon. To fulfill this dream, they kept one’s nose to the grindstone and created “CHANDRAYAAN 2”. It is an integration of the orbiting satellite, Vikram, which will land on the Moon’s surface and Pragyan, a Moon rover.

On July 22, 2019, 14:43:12 IST at Sriharikota, the Geo Synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle is ready for the launch. This Chandrayaan 2, placed at the snout of GSLV will be laid in an elliptical path around the earth with 200 kilometres as minor and 36,000 kilometres as major axis. At that moment it starts off the voyage. As a first step, it ‘ll spread out its solar panels and can able to extract its own energy. It checks out itself and expands its elliptical pathway from earth.

In the month of August, it arrives around the Moon’s elliptical path. Then it gradually reduces its elliptical path and reaches at about 100 kilometres in the orbital path and proceeds its way. On that stage, it selects an apt place and takes snap of that where the Vikram and Pragyan is going to land.

After it is being checked by the scientists and they upload this map in the Vikram memory as in the google map. As a consequence of this, Chandrayaan 2 releases Vikram, remaining in the orbital path 100 kilometres from the surface. Now Vikram grooms its parts to land on the surface. First step, it changes its elliptical path with 18 kilometres as minor and 100 kilometres as major axis.

In the mean time, it will do accurate calculations and releases its five 800 newton cryogenic engines. Unless, it does all the calculations accurately, it won’t land at the desired place.

This is how, it can able to land at the planned spot. Its executes in the first week of September, taken details from the pre-uploaded map in their memory. Then, it will land gradually and steps four legs on Moon. While landing, there may be sphere of dust. So, it waits for few minutes and takes shots of the place, where it landed.

If all the situations are perfect, Vikram allows Pragyan by spreading out the solar panels at the back. Now as the baby gets free from the mother’s umbilical cord, Pragyan leaves from Vikram. Both of them continues over their research on the land as Chandrayaan 2 .
