Dear Mommy,
I thank you for bringing me into this world, thank you for growing me up. I know that thank you is merely a word and it cannot fully explicate what you do for us. But there is something I want to tell you, something that I hope every mother knows. We as your children want you to be strong and independent, not someone who always walks in other’s shoes.
I see you running around the house and meeting the needs of all and seeing yourself forgetting. I see you thinking about everyone's pain and happiness and suppressing your own feelings. I see how you decorate the dish on another plate and serve the leftovers in yours
Oh, mommy! I know you are strong, but for your family, you are independent but for your parents; you are confident but in others, and you are a rebel, but for your children.
This Mother's Day I will not say how much I love you, because you already know that. Right. But this year I want you to think about yourself first.
Putting yourself before others will not harm your family life, nor will we feel how selfish our mother is. Because we love you and want you to fulfil your needs, give voice to your pain, share your happiness. If you will suffer in silence, put others first, do you think it will make us happy? If you do not voice for your needs, no one will come for you. After all, we are all humans, and so are you.
Yes, you are not a superhero managing all things at once; you are no superhero to pacify our every problem, anger or stupidity.
I want you to stand up for yourself, follow a healthy diet, focus on your work, don't worry too much about us, don't give up your dreams because of us or your family.
Because, your pain, worry, sacrifice, selflessness do not make us happy. What we want is your smile, to see you live your dreams.
If you keep yourself healthy first, then only you will take good care of us.
Like your happiness lies in us, our happiness lies in you.
Yours loving,
Daughter
