Diwali and Firecrackers!

Updated: May 26, 2021

Diwali is coming, right? It doesn't come and go without making much delight and dopamine rush.

So what's today's blog topic?

Crackers!🧨

Yes, it comes to all of our minds as the first thing when we think about Diwali. The loud bang depicts the onset of all celebrations and entertainment. And it also has controversies over the years due to the death, injuries, and hazards it makes to the environment.

The Fire Crackers came from China. It was used to scare away evil spirits.

According to Hindu Mythology, Diwali marks the victory of Lord Rama over Kind Ravana. It symbolizes the triumph of light. So it is all about light. No scriptures talk about the sound!

Around 80-90% of dogs are scared of crackers! They can deaf and blind animals and birds. Humans suffer from respiratory and heart problems.

Animal's sense of hearing is much more sensitive than ours--by up to four times more sensitive. They may lick and sniff the crackers!

Some youngsters even tie the crackers to the dog's tail and all. You can see the say no to the crackers' coming ahead. I have one more thing to say!

Approximately 70%-90% of the firecrackers and matches produced in India are from Sivakasi.

The hot and dry climate of the town is conducive to the firecracker and matchbox making industries.

Many people's livelihood depends on such industries. Yes, many people died and, many people have fallen prey to diseases but, what will they do. If they close down the industries, several people will be affected by unemployment, but what choice we have?

Why did I bring up this matter?

I bring it up because we must always analyze all the news and factors happening around us. We should not just say stop crackers stop pollution: we must also look upon those whose lives are completely dependent on it. If possible, we should give solutions to all the problems that will arise after making changes in our society.

The government may help those people by encouraging the opening of new businesses and other factories in and around Sivakasi to help those whose standard of living is low.

As future leaders, we must make decisions by looking into all the factors - This is what my learning for today!
