Is she a girl....or a woman..?

When did she become a woman?

Was it the day she turned 18 had her menarche or the day when she was born?

Couldn't it be that day when she draped a sari and adored the jewellery or when she was getting ready to face the world outside?

If a girl gets married...does she become a woman...or the day she gives birth, she becomes one?

To find answer to such questions...it took her a lot of courage, patience and mental strength..

As she was growing up... She was oftentimes asked to keep a watch and avoid those things which would make her look like a woman..she was asked to behave like a girl..

There was a modern belief in her city.. that piercing nose, getting her nails painted bright, putting a bindi on her forehead and on the top of everything..Wearing an ethnic outfit would make her look like a woman.. She loved almost every such activity which was categorised for a "woman".

Such beliefs have remained prominent for about a decade...or it can be said that this mentality has being killing every girl's womanhood for so long...that no one actually rememberes the difference between the two terms anymore... People now consider senescence to the determine one's age....they don't realise that being a woman or a girl aren't distinct...but they're same....they've completely forgotten that it's the body that ages...and not the soul...

But..as the people didn't seem to change a bit, she changed herself..she has now learnt to live whichever way she wants...she doesn't hesitate these days..neither does she pay a heed to the stigmas of society... she has finally learnt to be herself and she ain't gonna stop..🖤
