Seven Ways to Boost Your Metabolism


Metabolism is scientifically the sum total of all chemical processes taking place in our body, but as far as today's youth is concerned it is how fast can a person lose weight. If you can do it by making some minor changes in your lifestyle, why not glam up in this quarantine?

So let's see some simple & easy practices 😉

1. Take Plenty of Protein


Generally, when you eat food, your body increases metabolism for a few hours. This is called Thermic Effect of Food(TEF). Protein has the largest TEF. It increases our metabolic rate by 15-30%. Also, eating protein allows you to feel more full and prevent you from overeating. In Indian cuisine, you can replace a bowl of rice by three chapathis. This will not only boost your metabolism, it will also make you feel light and active. So, it's double dhamaka!😋

2. Drink More Cold Water


We all know drinking lots of water is good for weight loss, would you believe if I said that drinking cold water will double up the process?
Yes, drinking ice cold water boosts your metabolism rate because your body has to work harder to warm the water up and therefore you end up burning more calories. Hurray!🎇

3.Fifteen-minute Workout


This might sound like an old tale to you but believe me, it works wonders. Exercises like plank, lunges, squats & push-ups have always topped the list in HIIT(High Intensity Intermittent Exercise). I'll give you an easy daily workout routine to follow ;)
Plank- 1 min
Lunges- 20 (10 each side)
Squats- 20
Side plank- 1 min
Plank dip- 1 min
Reverse lunges- 20
Mountain climber- 1 min
Bicycle crunches- 1 min

4.Drink Green Tea


Tasty? Maybe not much. Healthy? Definetly yes! The caffeine present in the green tea acts as a stimulant that has been shown to aid fat burning & improve exercise activities in various studies. The wide range of anti-oxidants helps you burn fat & that is the key to lose weight.

5.Eat Spicy Foods


Sounds strange right? But yes, adding more chillies & pepper to your foods does improve metabolism. These generate a large amount of heat inside the body which tend to burn more fat. Yipees!😁

6.Replace Tea with Coffee


You heard me right. Like Green tea, the caffeine in coffee can boost your metabolism by 10% & promotes fat burning. It not only aids weight loss it also helps in maintenance. Hip Hip!✨

7.Get a Good Night's Sleep


The increase in risk of obesity is majorly linked to lack of sleep. It can cause rise in blood sugar levels & insulin resistance. Also, studies have shown that it can boost the hunger hormone 'ghrelin' & decrease the fullness hormone 'leptin'. So to avoid slow metabolism, all we need to do is to sleep tight!😀
