In this competitive world, no one wants to be like a foolish, silly or forgetful person. Instead each one admires for a sharp, ingenious, active brain. Because our current world evolved as a place suits for only master minds. Accordingly, many are employing brain games, workouts to train them in every possible ways. But we are oblivious about a master action which rules all other action in one's body. Have any clue on it? That's the sound sleep.

People are thinking that sleep is just an usual happening. But sleep is the critical aspect of wellness. Of course having a sound sleep is directly associated with the brain's function of learning and memory. What happens when we fall asleep? Sleep doesn't mean that our brain is shut down for a while.Rather, when we sleep brain prepares itself as a dry sponge ready to absorb the new memories of that day. During the deepest sleep, brain consolidates the memory by file transfer mechanisms from short term vulnerable reservoir to long term permanent storage site. Without sleep, the memory circuits in brain get clogged , hence no space for new memories.
Also during the deep sleep, cellular metabolic wastes are wiped off from brain cells, it results in rejuvenation of the cells. Furthermore, constant sleep deprivation leads to distortion of brain structure. As a result, lack of sleep ages a man by a decade. Since the advent of modern sophisticated technologies, sleep deprivation has become the problem for ages. Let's see this incredibly complex process in simpler terms. The centre of our brain contains a biological clock . When light falls on retina, it sends signal to this area. This signal trains the neuron to synchronize with the cycle of day and night. This is called circardial rythm. So when the surrounding turns dark , melatonin level increases to induce sleep. The overall result of this process is , it sends a message to the body to sleep when it's dark.
But in today's modern world we are constantly exposed to light pollution, when one use mobile or bright screen during bedtime, brain thinks that the sun is still shinning ,hence no commencement of the sleep. Never undervalue the consequences of sleep distress. This yields bitter impairment to the sleep-wake cycle. Hence stay away from the sleep deprivation factors and kick start the healthy sleep cycle to stay healthier, smarter and younger.
