Have you ever experienced someone is trying to harm you while sleeping? Well, everyone can experience this atleast once in their lifetime. But It's quite normal!
After that weird experience, you suddenly try to get up from the bed. But you can't even move a single muscle of your body and your voice seems chocked. You can open your eyes and you feel like a ghost is infront of you.

Do you have any idea about it? Well, there is a scientific reason behind it. Let's explore that!
All these things happen because of sleep disorder called SLEEP PARALYSIS. This is caused during the two stages of sleep.
Sleep cycle is very essential for every individual. There are two cycles: REM and NREM. We all have studied these terms in biology class. In a nutshell, NREM (Non random eye movement) means dreamless sleep and REM (Random eye moment) is just opposite to NREM.
In REM, your brain become more active. During this time, we experience dreams and nightmares. At the same time, our brain starts to control our muscles to avoid hurting ourself.
Walking from dreams before REM cycle completes, your body will paralyzed and that's why you feel like something is hovering you.
The major reason for sleep paralysis is depression and sleep deprevation. So, try to get complete 6-8 hours sleep.
Our brain controls body muscles to prevent hurting ourself and others. What if our brain doesn't control the activity of muscles? Just think and share your views through comment section.
