3 Photos That Shook The World

There is an old saying that a picture depicts a thousand words. But sometimes there are some pictures in front of which even 1000 words seem less and it leaves everyone speechless.


Here we will tell about some such pictures, which shook the world and left the entire world speechless.

(1) Kim Phuc: The Napalm Girl


A shocking picture made headlines when Kim Phuc, a nine-year-old Vietnamese girl, was captured by Nick UT on his camera running naked while escaping the brutal bombing of the North Vietnamese. Sometimes referred to as a Napalm girl, Kim Phuc tore her clothes to protect herself from a fire that hit her clothes and caused severe burn marks on her back. Nick UT beautifully captures the frightening image that can be seen of Kim Phuc with other children who were crying and running from their village, and gun-taunting soldiers walking beside them. Later, Nick taken the Napalm Girl to the hospital and her life.Today Kim Phuc is living her life in peace in Canada. This precipitous picture of Nick became famous around the world, and the effect of the image is so grave that anyone who sees it today brings alive the disastrous day of the war.

(2) The Burning Monk



Photograph of the burning of Vietnamese monk, Thich Quang Duc, by photographer Malcolm Brown, left everyone speechless when it went public. It is one of the most reminiscent photographs of history. In 1963, sitting in the center of Saigon street, Thich Quang Duc set himself on fire to protest against the Vietnamese government barbarity of the Vietnamese government towards Buddhist monks. Brown’s photograph, The Burning Monk, shocks from the inside and looks more frightening, as Thich Kwang was sitting quietly on the busy street in the fire, with no expression on his face like he was sitting on a recliner. It did not take long for this picture to spread around the world and startle people. Malcolm Brown also won the Pulitzer Prize for this iconic photo.

(3) Buried Girl



A painful picture of a buried girl is revealed to the nation when Raghu Raj and Pablo Bartholomew, two photojournalists, capture a person burying a little girl in their camera, following the Bhopal gas tragedy.

The Bhopal gas tragedy is the worst tragedy ever in Indian history and the pictures of its death have shaken the world. But among them the most popular and gruesome pictures is that of an innocent girl whose unruffled face, with vibrant eyes, screaming from the picture. It captured the pain and fear of the girl with such intensity that when the picture came in front of the world; the world realized the actual pain of the victims of Bhopal gas tragedy.
